About this day trip
Leave Tirana at 08:30 and drive south through olive country to Belsh Lake for coffee by the water. In Berat your driver drops you at the castle gate so you walk down through the citadel, past Byzantine churches and the Onufri museum, to the Mangalem quarter. Lunch is in a family restaurant your driver recommends (and does not get commission from). On the way back, an optional stop at a family winery in Çobo for a tasting.

Great day, long drive
It is a long day in the car, be ready for that. But the castle and the lunch were worth it and Arben kept it fun.

Worth every euro, one price for all of us
Five of us in a clean minivan for less than a bus tour per person. Arben recommended lunch and it was the best meal of the trip.
